- Please share your biggest wins as an SDGs advocate
"As an advocate for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), my biggest wins include: 1. Winning Entrepreneurial Competitions: I secured first place in three major entrepreneurship competitions (Hult Prize 2022, AAST Rally Graduation Projects 2022, and Rally AAST The General Track). These wins not only recognized our innovative projects aligned with sustainable development but also provided a platform to amplify their impact. 2. Founding JOPE: I founded JOPE, a platform that connects people with disabilities to companies seeking to hire them. It focuses on empowering them through training in essential skills. This aligns with SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequality). 3. Leading GROW Initiative: I led the GROW Initiative under the British Council, training 20 individuals with disabilities in perfume making. Four of them launched their own businesses, supporting SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 8. 4. Launching ""Jowa el Hella"" Initiative: This initiative trains visually impaired women in cooking and helps them sell their products, promoting inclusivity and economic growth, aligning with SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 10. 5. Active Participation in Student Activities: Through organizations like Enactus and Hult Prize, I gained extensive experience in sustainable project management, contributing directly to multiple SDGs, particularly in social entrepreneurship and community development. These achievements reflect my commitment to advancing the SDGs through innovative, inclusive, and impactful solutions. "
- Outside of your SDGs advocacy work, what do you enjoy doing?
"Outside of my SDGs advocacy work, I enjoy engaging in activities that allow me to explore creativity and personal growth. Some of the things I love doing include: 1. Reading: I have a passion for reading books, particularly in the areas of personal development, entrepreneurship, and social change. It helps me stay informed and continuously learn. 2. Volunteering: Beyond SDGs, I enjoy contributing to community-driven initiatives and helping people, especially those from underrepresented groups. 3. Traveling and Cultural Exchange: I love traveling and immersing myself in different cultures. My exchange experience in the U.S. at Morris College has fueled this passion, and I look forward to exploring more places. 4. Cooking: I have a special interest in cooking, which led me to launch the “Jowa el Hella” initiative. I enjoy experimenting with new recipes and creating dishes that can be shared with others. 5. Networking and Mentoring: I enjoy connecting with like-minded individuals, mentoring younger generations, and participating in discussions around business and social innovation. These activities keep me grounded and inspire me to bring new ideas into my professional and advocacy work. "
