Ahmed Roshdy is a dedicated Computer Science student with a strong passion for leadership, cultural exchange, and youth empowerment. He has engaged in global programs like Empower 2030 Leaders and the Wavemakers United Foundation, focusing on critical issues such as sustainability and gender equality. Alongside his academic work, Ahmed has worked as a graphic designer on over 90 projects in freelance and full-time roles. At Empower Hub, he manages responsibilities for over 450 students in various roles, including mentor, interviewer, supervisor, and manager of the Scholarships Academy's Rewards System. Outside his professional life, Ahmed is an active volunteer, an inline skating enthusiast, and continuously seeks personal development through diverse activities.
- What ignited your pursuit for SDGs especially the goals you believe in?
- Please share your biggest wins as an SDGs advocate
"Some of my biggest wins as an SDGs advocate have come from experiences that really allowed me to contribute. I participated in the Empower 2030 Leaders project, where I learned how to spread awareness about the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, especially around gender equality and sustainability. Another major achievement was stepping into the role of events planning manager for the Wavemakers United Foundation, where I played a key role in organizing initiatives to tackle global water challenges. Through Empower Hub, I've also mentored students at the Scholarships Academy, guiding them on their educational journeys while advocating for quality education. These experiences have shown me the power of direct action and collaboration in making a real difference toward global goals."
- Outside of your SDGs advocacy work, what do you enjoy doing?
"Outside of my SDGs advocacy work, I have quite a few hobbies that keep me busy. I'm really into technology and science, so I often spend my free time building and repairing computers; there's just something satisfying about getting everything to work perfectly. I also have a thing for collecting rare Egyptian coins; it's like holding a piece of history in my hands. When I'm not tinkering with tech, you'll probably find me outdoors; skating, cycling, or just getting involved in team sports. I also love exploring the internet and diving into a good book when I want to relax. Traveling to new places is always on my list too; I enjoy discovering new destinations. I'm a bit of a cinephile, so watching movies is a big deal for me, especially when I can pair it with a delicious meal I've cooked myself. I also enjoy playing intelligence games; they're a great way to keep my mind sharp. And of course, I love working on graphic design projects using Adobe tools; I find it incredibly rewarding to create something visually engaging that represents a brand or idea."
