- A brief bio:
"Hey, I am Mariam, a Science enthusiast since day one and a passionate young Scientist who enjoys exploring, questioning the world, and innovating sustainable solutions for a better life. By the age of twelve, I was granted the Young Scientist Certification offered by Education USA in collaboration with The Egyptian Association for Educational Resources for my innovation in the field of Biomedical Science and as my passion for it was growing, I experienced a tragic situation as a close friend of mine passed away at that young age due to cancer, leaving me with a seed of dedication to contribute to developing more precise sustainable treatments for challenging diseases that can serve everyone. Since then, the 3rd goal of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, “Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages” has always been my core goal and the center of all my efforts, even before its establishment, as I believe the world's health and well-being is the best investment. I believe a Scientist is not really a Scientist until their scientific knowledge is useful, shareable, and Impactful. With this vision, I started my personal development journey attributed with civil work and community service missions and since a good leader starts with herself, I have upgraded my soft skills, and science communication skills and gained valuable insights on entrepreneurship and sustainability through a variety of projects in vibrant civil communities. The experience was full of gifts, challenges, and growth opportunities where it enlightened my leadership identity and upscaled my potential. I feel proud every time I recall my valuable participation and I am looking forward to employing my gains to magnify the benefits on an even larger scale through joining more youth-empowering communities and projects for better Society, Economy, Health, and more. "At the age of twelve, Mariam developed innovative ideas in the Biomedical Science with a focus on the Brain-Computer-Interface despline aiming to develop educational technologies and help the disabled. Her’s was the one idea selected from her school to participate in the Young Scientist Enrichment Program (YESP) offered by Education USA in collaboration with The Egyptian Association for Educational Resources and was certified for it. Mariam believes, raising the Scientific Awareness concerning better daily life practices and behaviors can really make a big difference in the world like saving lives and improving it's quality, sustaining resources, environment and our planet serving most of the SDGs. Thus, Science Communication was a personal concern for Mariam as she planned to make her knowledge as well as others’ sharable, digestible and applicable for everyone and not only those in the field. Consequently she started her journey by participating in Nexus Project for Science Communication by the American Chemical Society (ACS) and through her participation and presented potential, she was nominated to be the Head of Training and Development for the trainers and participants in the project through which the training took them all to the next level and similarly put them on her vision’s track. During Mariam's Bachelor's Graduation Project, She led her team to developing natural sustainable alternatives to chemical therapeutics that help in curing multiple diseases, serving the 3rd, 9th, 12th and more goals of the SDGs. The project was proudly successful with excellence degree. With her Post-Graduate-Studies, Mariam decided to recruit all her talents, knowledge, experience and network to benefit the younger generations of future scientists and researchers while serving the 17th goal of the SDGs, “Partnerships for the goals” as she volunteered to be the Public Relations Head at the Undergraduate Researchers Initiative to make more fruitful collaborations with different experts and entities within similar values and the benefits was successfully magnified "
